Chris Stewart began his career in the United States Air Force’s Space Command managing communications computer systems at NORAD. In September 2000, he received his first City of Austin position with Austin Energy where he worked for 2.5 years. He then accepted a position with CTM where he progressed from a contributor to supervisor and eventually IT Manager for City Hall before moving to Austin Water as a Division Manager, then Utility Chief Information Officer. He was asked to fill the role of Chief Information Officer for the City of Austin in September of 2020 and accepting the position permanently in April 2021. Chris holds an AAS in Computer Information Systems from Pikes Peak Community College, a BBA from St. Edward’s University, and an MPA from the University of Texas RGV.
